I am interested in calculating the cost per kilometre for clearing the snow from a) city-maintained sidewalks, and b) city roads. I have found the total budget for snow and ice removal, but I now need to know how that is split between sidewalks (incl. cycle paths) and roads. Then I need to be able to divide it by the number of km. the City clears for those amounts. Ultimately I would like to be able to multiply the per km. value to any street that is undergoing significant constructionh in the near future (e.g. the upcoming Jasper Ave reconstruction) and be able to see on a map which portions of the roadway are cleared by the City and which are the responsibility of private owners. Then I would be able to add together the length of each portion of the roadway that is cleared by the City, get a total nbr of km. and calculate the total average annual cost for the City to clear that particular roadway. That total can then be compared with alternative methods of clearing the snow such as solar-powered and geothermal sidewalk heating. Thanks.

I was excited to hear about the hi resolution radar the City purchased. I would love to be able access that imagery live during severe weather events or to monitor rainfall in Edmonton.

Currently the public calendar located at http://www.edmonton.ca/attractions_events/schedule_festivals_events/events-calendar.aspx provides an interesting and useful calendar events in Edmonton. Event data to be available to consume by any website or app would only further spread and syndicate event informations to better make decisions about enjoying everything Edmonton has to offer that one may not be aware of. I am immediately looking to use this data. While the data is available in an RSS feed, the neighbourhood filter does not use the neighbourhood id's and thus it is not as possible to use this this data as easily as open data. It would be tremendous if this dataset could feed into data.edmonton.ca, and the neighbourhood id of the calendar could also include the city's neighbourhood id's referenced in open datasets. The alternative unfortunately is to have to attempt to reverse engineer the neighbourhood drop down on the website to try and extract the neighbourhood id's used in the calendar filter to them build a correlation to the official Edmonton neighbourhood id's.

I would like a data set that includes year (and ideally month) started and year/month completed for neighbourhood renewal projects. Just the columns of started, completed, and neighbourhood should be sufficient.

Complete traffic collision data released and updated as soon as possible after new incidents are reported. Data should include date, time, and geographic location (latitude/longitude). Data should also include reason for collision and what was struck (pedestrian, cyclist, pole,...).

Request for data set produced by Edmonton's automated traffic Enforcement fleet. Looking for annonomized data of tickets given by Edmonton's fleet of vehichles including red light and speed traffic cameras at intersections. Data might include speed of travel, location of infraction, speed posted and any other data collected by automated enforcement.

Presently the property assessment website provides access to public records by the way of title transfer records and dates. This information is relied upon for property assessments and can be useful for many other insights. I would like to request the existing public dataset from which these reports are provided to be available via open data well in advance of next year's assessments to encourage transparency and accessibility to information.

Two entities: 1. Inventory of playing surfaces and their characteristics - coordinates, type, size. 2. Rental/utilisation records for each playing surface, including a timestamp and renter identifier. Also emailed this request in May to opendata@edmonton.ca. This is motivated by a redevelopment initiative for a school/neighbourhood field area.

Past bookings of facilities in recreation areas, such as Kinsmen sports field, at times and users that have historically booked public facility space. This historical data would show high usage times and help other groups plan to book at low usage times.

We'd like to see posting a listing of the pay advice earnings codes and descriptions in the City's Open Data set. These codes and descriptions are currently kept in a Google Sheet and correspond to the codes in use in PeopleSoft.

In consuming open datasets, I am wanting to have a graphic to visualize or represent them. It would be interesting and useful to have an open dataset referencing as many of the media/photo collateral that the city makes available with a dataset that includes URL links to the images and files containing them. I think it would be interesting to develop an open graphics library, which lists all assets in an open data set that lists: - Edmonton graphics site. - Edmonton Vector Illustrations of maps, buildings, skylines, attractions, etc. Some exist already on photos.edmonton.ca - Edmonton Open Data Icons (Perhaps an icon for each dataset, or dataset category, or keyword category) - Logos - Graphics and renderings that are provided free to the public as part of other pieces of information (renderings, or cropped segments of renderings can often serve as interesting and useful graphics to make open data look more presentable). I am presently working on a "My Edmonton" app consuming many datasets by neighbourhood/loation and am looking for ways to visually represent datasets using graphics, or other icons.

I was asked over the weekend if this can be added to the Open Data catalogue: It would be very interesting to have HR statistics regarding the employee demographics in the City, specifically: Age Range, Gender, Role and ethnicity if possible. For example: population of Edmonton is a wide range of ages and ethnicity, with a 50/50 split of gender, it'd be interesting to see how that's reflected in the city at multiple different roles within the city (management, employee etc)

The City has several counters installed on paths/trails that record the number of cyclists and pedestrians that use those routes. I think there would be great interest in publishing these counts as open data.

With the current council motions dataset it is not possible to determine in which order the motions occurred. This is extremely important because whether an amendment occurred before or after a reading is very important for understanding the context of votes. Something like a motion_index column that is just an integer denoting the order in which motions occurred would be sufficient

If I could get information on which picnic sites are booked for what days, that would be awesome. Certain agenda items and motions will reference a particular attachment (for example, references to Item 7.3 in the most recent agenda item relating to bylaw 17400). If these attachments could be put into a data set with their corresponding agenda item or motion, as well as a name/brief description and canonical data source (could be links to PDFs or documents) that would make the motion data much more useful

The City of Edmonton assessment data for property values for the past 10 (?) years.

Historical bookings of which fields and which facilities are booked on what dates would be extremely helpful for people booking future events. The City books sports fields and rec facilities to individuals, groups and sports leagues. But for the year ahead, they must wait until a certain date (March 1 for summer) before booking. For sports leagues this presents a challenge for marketing and recruiting. People don't join a team unless they know when it is playing. A group would benefit from seeing historical trends to know if a league has booked the same fields on the same nights for 5 years, and they would look at other options when planning ahead. (423-6890) is supervisor for facility bookings and rentals.

Please add the locations of bike racks and bike parking (both public and private) throughout the city. We'd like to use it to do some analyses of sustainable transportation options in the city. (I know that some bike rack locations are provided on a map associated with the Request a Rack service, but that certainly isn't all of them.) Thanks.

For the candidates that have filed their intent to run in an election (as far back as possible please) I'd like as much information as possible. Specifically, the minimum I require is the candidate year of birth, but more information like citizenship would be useful (though I can understand the privacy implications associated with that might make such an addition impossible)

I am hoping that changes in property assessment values will be included as the time carries on. It will certainly be of great use for both the city/residents in understanding suburbanization and densification efforts such as infill in the city. It would also help in the analysis of the economic impact of the Ice District and other large scale projects.

I would like a dataset listing all of the planned and unplanned LRT outages and disruptions. Each record should contain the date and time/duration, the cause (even a category of cause would be good), whether it was planned or unexpected, and the line(s)/station(s) affected. It would be ideal to have some historical data as well.

Detailed data on the collisions that have occurred in school zones within the past 5 years. (this can, and should be extended to all collision data, which I've previously requested, but this bite-size chunk is a good starting point, since there's only about 60 in the past 4 years) Included should be data like: GPS co-ordinates of the collision, date and time, is_fatality_collision, is_injury_collisions and if a vulnerable user was involved as well as any other information (was speed a factor? Visibility? Drunkenness?)
