Data request · Citizen request

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for a shapefile of NYC's precincts as they were in 2014 (specifically the state primary). If you could help me here, I'd appreciate it! I'm a political cartographer trying to make a map of an election

Hi , Which 2014 primary are you trying to analyze? Different elections have different election districts. For example, the State Senate districts are different from City Council districts. Also, NYC Open Data will only have the districts for New York City, not other districts within the State. You can find historical election and political districts on Dept. of City Planning's website here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-... You can browse through or search for data. The lowest level (most general) would be the Election districts, search "Election" and look for 2014 version (the data is released quarterly so there are 4 versions 14A, 14B, 14C, 14D). If you are looking for a specific jurisdiction we have the following available for NYC: New York City: City Council, Municipal Court, New York State: NYS Assembly, NYS Senate United States: Congressional Thank you, - Department of City Planning
