Hi, Here's what you can find that can help partially meet your needs: DOB Job Application Filings provides construction permit application data for every building that has filed for a permit in approximately the last 10 years. This is not every building in the city. You can get number of Proposed Dwelling Units and number of Proposed Stories (floors). This data is only required on larger construction jobs, so many of the applications will not have values in these fields. DCP has MapPLUTO that offers most of that info for Tax Lots, but for tax lots that contain multiple buildings it is either aggregated (i.e. # of units) or only the primary building info is displayed (i.e. building class). DOITT GIS maintains the Building Footprints and can be joined to DCP MapPLUTO but the issue will remain for lots with multiple buildings. (this probably affects 20% of lots - rough estimate). DOF has Property Assessment data, which includes building classifications (types). Between all of those datasets, you should be able to get the information you're looking for on the majority of buildings in New York City. Thank you, - NYC Department of Buildings (DOB)
